Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xhorez Psylo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Xhorez Psylo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Psylo looks for a takedown but Lewis sprawls well.
Psylo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis misses with a two punch combination.
Psylo blocks the body kick.
Psylo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lewis but Lewis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've been hearing good reports from Psylo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Psylo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lewis dives on top into guard.

Psylo wants to work for an arm triangle but Lewis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Psylo gets to his feet. Lewis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lewis misses with a knee to the head.

Lewis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Psylo.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lewis. Psylo shrugs it off though.

Psylo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Psylo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Psylo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mark Lewis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lewis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lewis lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Psylo backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Xhorez Psylo will probably get the nod.

Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Psylo defends well.
Psylo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lewis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Xhorez Psylo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lewis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Psylo is controlling him.
Lewis has control of Psylo's left arm, preventing Psylo from doing any damage.

Psylo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lewis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lewis has escaped and now he's on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lewis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Psylo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lewis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lewis is looking to take a break and control but Psylo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Psylo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lewis lands a nice short elbow.
Psylo pushes Lewis off looking to stand but Lewis dives back in and keeps control.

Mark Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Psylo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
