Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Weichel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Baptiste Reno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicholas Weichel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Baptiste Reno!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weichel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Baptiste Reno was covering up waiting for the punch and Weichel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Weichel lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Baptiste Reno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Weichel is aware though and is defending well.

Baptiste Reno utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Weichel tries to free his leg and advance position but Baptiste Reno is retaining full guard.
Baptiste Reno wants to control the position but Weichel says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Weichel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Weichel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Weichel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Weichel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baptiste Reno does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Weichel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Baptiste Reno has managed to free his arm - good work.
Weichel prevents Baptiste Reno from improving his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Weichel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Baptiste Reno is looking for a sweep. Weichel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Baptiste Reno is refusing to be controlled, as Weichel sits in half guard.

Weichel trying to mount his opponent but Baptiste Reno defends it.

Weichel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baptiste Reno swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baptiste Reno can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Weichel controls the pace.

Weichel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Baptiste Reno dives on top into guard.

Weichel has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Baptiste Reno is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Weichel.

Weichel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Baptiste Reno is working to tighten his grip on Weichel's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Weichel has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Baptiste Reno is really squeezing tight and eventually Weichel passes out! Baptiste Reno breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
