The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reza wants to clinch

and Ibe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ibe.
We've been informed that Ibe has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Ibe landing knees to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ibe is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reza can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Reza is looking to improve his position but Ibe isn't that keen on the idea.

Ibe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reza is surviving well by controlling Ibe's body position as best he can.

Ibe has control of Reza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Reza regains control of the situation pretty easily.
