Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Bourque!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond tries to close the distance and clinch but Bourque swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Redmond waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bourque.
Bourque thows a body shot but no joy.
Redmond misses with a few strikes there.
Bourque seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Redmond lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bourque at a distance.

Redmond has closed the distance and engaged Bourque in a clinch.

Redmond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bourque fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Redmond looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Redmond throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bourque is trying to push Redmond away but Redmond has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Redmond is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A bit of stalling here from Redmond.
Bourque really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Redmond works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Redmond postures up in Bourque's guard and throws a big left but Bourque blocks it.
Redmond has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bourque is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Redmond throws an elbow that misses. Bourque uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Redmond's guard. Nice move by Bourque!

Redmond throws a leg kick but Bourque moved away.

Redmond rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bourque counters with a right hand to the body.
Redmond rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bourque moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Redmond throws a shot to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Redmond misses the target.
Redmond lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bourque circles away quickly and effectively.
Redmond misses with a jab, cross combination.
Redmond shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bourque but Bourque pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Redmond lands with a shot to the body.
Paul Bourque is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Redmond shoots for a double leg takedown but Bourque sprawls well. He's pushed Redmond's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Redmond throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bourque lands a body shot.
Redmond tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bourque manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bourque sizes up Redmond with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


Redmond is rocked!
Nathan Redmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Redmond goes for a double leg but Bourque avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bourque continues to drive forward.
Redmond is still on wobbly legs! Can Bourque finish him?
Bourque wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bourque is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Redmond is keeping busy.

Bourque pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Redmond throws an off balance right hand
and Bourque counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

After winning the bout, Paul Bourque thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
