Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Carlos Rodriguez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Rodriguez looks to land a left hand but Bate Bate moved out of range nicely.
Bate Bate shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodriguez sprawls well. Rodriguez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bate Bate gets slowly back to his feet.

Rodriguez gets caught napping as Bate Bate dives in and scores a takedown. Rodriguez manages to retain guard.

Carlos Rodriguez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rodriguez throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bate Bate cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rodriguez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bate Bate on the side of the head.
Rodriguez looks to throw the jab but Bate Bate is out of range.
Bate Bate staying out of range there.
Rodriguez missing with a left hand there. Bate Bate was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Rodriguez throws a lazy right hand but Bate Bate sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Carlos Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bate Bate misses with a takedown attempt - Rodriguez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pirulito Bate Bate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bate Bate takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodriguez scores with a jab. Bate Bate acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Bate Bate tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rodriguez swivels and escapes.
Rodriguez catches Bate Bate with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Oh Bate Bate is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rodriguez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bate Bate slips a jab from Rodriguez.
Bate Bate fails with a takedown attempt.

Rodriguez cracks Bate Bate with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rodriguez has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bate Bate to stand back up!
Bate Bate darts in looking for a takedown but Rodriguez gets double underhooks and turns Bate Bate into the cage.
Rodriguez can't break the clinch.

Rodriguez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bate Bate walks straight into a right hand from Rodriguez - that's dropped him! Rodriguez jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bate Bate from any more punishment! Bate Bate complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
