Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nestor Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sung looks to land a left hand but Gonzalez moved out of range nicely.

Sung has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Gonzalez is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Sung still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Sung has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sung avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gonzalez feints and as Sung raises his hands in defense, Gonzalez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sung avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Gonzalez drops back looking for a leg! Sung is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sung manages to kick Gonzalez off! Gonzalez jumps back into Sung's guard.

Gonzalez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sung is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gonzalez, into his guard.

Gonzalez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sung doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sung manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sung seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Gonzalez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sung avoids it really well and circles away.

Sung bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gonzalez's head.

Gonzalez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Sung is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Gonzalez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The crowd cheers as Sung lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gonzalez doesn't seem phased though.
Gonzalez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sung finds it's way round the side to connect with Gonzalez's head.

Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up with Sung, looking for a takedown. Gonzalez pushes Sung against the cage but Sung circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gonzalez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sung shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gonzalez eats them both and turns towards Sung to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sung catches Gonzalez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Sung is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Sung lunges at Gonzalez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gonzalez's hand.
Gonzalez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sung connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gonzalez scrambles back to his feet.
Gonzalez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gonzalez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sung connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
