Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Avro Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Ming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Ming struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancaster shoots for a takedown but Ming saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ming forces Lancaster back against the cage and clinches.
Ming prevents the takedown attempt.
Lancaster is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ming is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Avro Lancaster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ming breaks from the clinch.
Ming throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lancaster's waist but Lancaster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ming off to one side.
Ming doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lancaster counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lancaster throws a sloppy head kick and Ming moves out of range easily.
Ming misses with a takedown attempt
and Lancaster counters with a single leg into guard. Ming didn't expect that.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ming can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lancaster distracts Ming with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lancaster controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lancaster is pushing down on Ming's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ming is fighting to maintain full guard but Lancaster has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ming tries to roll over but Lancaster keeps him under control.
Lancaster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lancaster has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ming wants to get back to full guard.
Lancaster is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ming doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lancaster.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lancaster advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lancaster cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lancaster quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Lancaster but it's paid off an Ming is forced to tap! Nice work by Lancaster.
