Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lobsta Mang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes to the cage accompanied by Hells Bells. Mang has chosen Damn It Feels Good To Be A Lobsta as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maia misses the body punch
and Mang makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Mang misses with a looping left.
Maia takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Miko Maia has been cut.
Maia darts in trying to clinch
and Mang counters with a left to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maia moves to clinch but Mang breaks away

and Mang counters with a shoot takedown. Maia fights it but they end up in guard.
Mang trying to control the position from guard on top but Maia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mang looking to sit in guard and control but Maia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Maia throws a big elbow that misses.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mang is on top in guard.
Mang trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Maia manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Maia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mang looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mang looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mang!

Mang creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Maia sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mang tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mang is looking to take a break and control but Maia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mang works to advance to full mount. Maia defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Mang pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Maia is trying desperately to improve position.
Mang fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Mang goes for an armbar but Maia turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Maia.

Mang has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Mang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A right-left combo lands from Maia.

It looks like Lobsta Mang has been cut.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mang checks a leg kick.
Mang takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Miko Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mang lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Maia backwards.

I was talking to Maia's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
