Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksander Olav!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ray Jones!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones forces Olav back against the cage and clinches.
Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Olav throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Aleksander Olav seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Olav.
Jones lands a jab to Olav's midsection.
Olav swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Olav takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Olav.
Olav just misses with a punch to the body.
No joy there for Olav, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Olav looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.
Olav doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Olav fails to land with a series of punches.
Olav misses with a straight right.
Olav falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Jones lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Olav is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Olav takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Olav's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jones connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Olav scrambles back to his feet.
Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Olav misses with a series of wild punches.
Olav takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Aleksander Olav has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jones scores with a nice strike.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Olav stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jones lands a left and a right that send Olav crashing to the mat, dazed. Jones thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Olav is rocked!
Olav is aggressively charging in as Jones backs up avoiding any damage. Jones tosses out a jab and Olav runs right into it face first! Olav is out cold! Jones dropped down on all fours and is barking in Olav's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ray Jones!
