Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by Trap Door. Garcia has chosen Ensemble of the restless as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mendez manages to avoid it.
Mendez throws a series of punches but Garcia moves out of range.
Mendez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garcia throws a head kick that misses.
Garcia lands with a good body shot.
Mendez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Garcia lands a jab to Mendez's midsection.
Garcia misses with a hook to the body
and Mendez counters with a one-two to the body.
Garcia fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Garcia is fending him off so far but Mendez persists. Nope, Garcia circles away and we're back to standing.
Mendez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Garcia throws out the jab.

Mendez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mendez.
Garcia misses with an uppercut. Mendez saw that one coming.
Sergio Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mendez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcia tries to avoid it but Mendez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcia to the ground. Garcia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mendez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Garcia swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mendez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Mendez moves into the clinch.

Garcia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mendez is rocked!
Garcia postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Mendez badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Garcia around the waist but Garcia pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Garcia is the winner by TKO! Garcia jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Sergio Garcia was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
