The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kamura drives through with a takedown into Wardrop's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kamura passes into half guard.
Wardrop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamura on the ground.
Kamura trying to mount his opponent but Wardrop defends it.

Kamura seems to be working for a kimura but Wardrop defends the submission attempt.
Wardrop tries to get to full guard but Kamura has control of the leg.
Kamura thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kamura tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kamura has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wardrop tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kamura presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Kamura is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wardrop is surviving well by controlling Kamura's body position as best he can.
Wardrop is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kamura is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Wardrop has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Wardrop defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kamura.

Wardrop is trying desperately to improve position.

Kamura takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kamura breaks from Wardrop's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Kamura wants to take Wardrop's back here but Wardrop is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kamura misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Wardrop is trying to escape the mount but Kamura keeps good control and instead manages to take Wardrop's back.

Kamura sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Wardrop taps out!
