The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matthews darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.
We've been informed that Jones has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Matthews is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Main Event Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Matthews drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matthews has Jones in his guard.

Jones turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Matthews chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matthews takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jones throws a push kick but Matthews slaps the foot to one side.
Jones throws a front kick aimed at Matthews's knee but Matthews avoids it well.
Matthews moves out of range of the body kick from Jones.
Matthews shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matthews shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jones leaves Matthews with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jack Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jones closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Matthews! Jones dives in looking to finish! Matthews is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Jones!
Jack Jones was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
