PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Showtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Dubov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Showtime comes to the cage accompanied by Old Toms Hut. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dubov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Showtime is pushing Dubov's head away, looking to escape. Dubov manages to hold on to the position though.
Dubov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Dubov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Showtime is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Showtime is being controlled here.
Dubov wants to control but Showtime is keeping him busy.
Showtime is looking for a sweep.
Dubov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Showtime is looking to regain half guard here but Dubov keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dubov is working to tighten his grip on Showtime's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Showtime has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dubov is really squeezing tight and eventually Showtime passes out! Dubov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
