Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janis Ozolins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ozolins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ozolins works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ozolins tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ozolins landing a few strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ozolins with the ground and pound but Watson regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Ozolins throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Watson to regain full guard.

Watson has a closed guard, preventing Ozolins from standing up.
Watson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Watson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ozolins wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving.

Ozolins throwing strikes but missing.

Watson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ozolins trying to control but Watson is working from the bottom.
Watson controls Ozolins momentarily but Ozolins frees himself.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ozolins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Watson, pushing him back against the cage.
Watson tries for a takedown but Ozolins manages to get underhooks.
Watson has Ozolins pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ozolins manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Watson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ozolins is pressed up against the cage. Watson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ozolins down to the mat. Ozolins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buddy Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ozolins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Watson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ozolins creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Watson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Watson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Ozolins looking to control but instead Watson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Watson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ozolins has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ozolins postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Watson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Watson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Janis Ozolins!
A relieved looking Janis Ozolins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
