Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soz Sztrova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sztrova kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is In Flames - Delight and Anger. The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sztrova tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendoza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sztrova shoots in looking for a takedown but Mendoza manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sztrova's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sztrova looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sztrova drops his hands momentarily and Mendoza takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Luis Mendoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Sztrova counters with a big head kick but Mendoza shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mendoza's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mendoza duly obliges.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mendoza has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mendoza bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mendoza blocks a head kick by Sztrova.

Mendoza fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sztrova looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mendoza thuds his right hand into Sztrova's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sztrova misses with a takedown attempt - Mendoza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mendoza is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sztrova had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Oh Sztrova is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Mendoza counters with a huge left! Sztrova is in big trouble! He's backing up but Mendoza isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Sztrova from any more damage. A dominating finish by Mendoza!
