Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cole River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riel Dan Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River comes to the cage accompanied by Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On The Bayou. Reyes has chosen Bad House Music ('98 Dub Mix) as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cole River!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Riel Dan Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Reyes with that takedown attempt.
River scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Reyes cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reyes lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Reyes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Reyes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of River's face.
River wants to control but Reyes is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cole River will probably get the nod.

River turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
River throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Reyes on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The fight stays on the outside here - River looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cole River seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
River does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
We've been told by River's head coaches at Demon's Progym, LOP that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Reyes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
River throws out a leg kick but Reyes moves out of range and River only half commits.

River is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
River throws a hook to the side of Reyes's head but Reyes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

River buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
River throws a low kick but Reyes moves out of range easily.
River throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
River closes the distance but Reyes moves to the side

and Reyes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Reyes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reyes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of River's head.

River is trying to keep Reyes in close.

River goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Reyes tries to pull guard but River holds him up against the cage and eventually Reyes drops back down to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cole River is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

River is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reyes can do to turn this around?
