The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Caio Lucio has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Lucio misses the target.
Lucio swings widly with a right hand
and Smith counters with a nice body kick.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Lucio ducks down to avoid it.
Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lucio was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lucio looking to control.
Lucio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith drops back looking for a leg! Lucio is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lucio manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Lucio's guard.
Smith advances position into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith grinds an elbow into Lucio's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lucio is trying to escape and Smith transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lucio is forced to tap! Nice work there by Smith! Very nice indeed!
