Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dean Preston !
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Haines looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Haines shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Haines showed some decent athleticism there.
Preston preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Haines trying to control the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haines trying to mount his opponent but Preston defends it.

Preston looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Haines lands strikes from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Haines is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Preston doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Haines.
Haines looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Haines takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Preston tries to get to full guard but Haines has control of the leg.

Haines is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Haines seems to be working for a kimura but Preston defends the submission attempt.
Haines is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Haines avoids the attempt from Preston to control.
Haines controlling his opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Haines is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Preston can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Haines with a couple of short strikes.
Preston taking shots to the head.
Haines forces the positional change into back control.
Preston is keeping busy.
Haines has good solid back control here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Haines has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Preston is defending well but eventually Haines manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Preston has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
