Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darron Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nino Dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Nino Dunn enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darron Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nino Dunn!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Dunn. Those never looked like landing.

Dunn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Carlson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dunn is trying to keep an underhook but Carlson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Dunn is trying to stand back up but Carlson is controlling him
Dunn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Dunn looking for submissions off his back.

Dunn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carlson pulls his head out easily.
Dunn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dunn wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Carlson is now in half guard.
Dunn wants to improve his position but Carlson is controlling well.
Carlson prevents Dunn from standing back up.

Carlson decides to return to a standing position.
Dunn connects with a leg kick. Carlson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Dunn clinches with his opponent.

Carlson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Dunn missing with punches from the bottom.

Carlson decides to stand up.
Dunn closes the distance and lands a one-two.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Carlson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dunn to the mat! Dunn manages to get full guard.

Carlson stops Dunn from standing up.

Dunn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carlson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carlson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Carlson passes Dunn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Carlson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Carlson really is a fat lump.
Dunn is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Dunn tries to bum rush Carlson with a series of wild strikes but Carlson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Dunn closes the distance and pushes Carlson back into the cage.
Dunn is trying to maintain a safe position but Carlson gets an underhook and turns Dunn into the cage.
Dunn with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Carlson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dunn to keep the fight standing.
Dunn looking to stall.

Dunn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Carlson gets tackled into the cage by Dunn. Dunn maintains the clinch.

Carlson pulls guard successfully.
Carlson controls Dunn momentarily but Dunn frees himself.
Dunn wants to stand but Carlson is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlson looking for a sweep. Not yet Carlson, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nino Dunn will probably get the nod.
That's time! Carlson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dunn has Carlson up against the cage in a clinch.
Carlson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dunn to keep the fight standing.

Carlson pulls guard effortlessly.

Dunn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carlson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dunn has managed to get both his arms back between Carlson's legs - danger averted.
Dunn tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlson is retaining full guard.
Dunn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Darron Carlson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dunn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carlson's guard.
Carlson wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carlson pushes Dunn off and scrambles back to his feet.

Dunn rushes Carlson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Carlson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dunn smiles and moves away.
Dunn connects with a high kick.


It looks like Darron Carlson has been cut.
Nino Dunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carlson tries to move into range but Dunn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Carlson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dunn - the referee stops the clock and Carlson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dunn. Carlson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dunn has closed the distance and engaged Carlson in a clinch.

Carlson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dunn uses from the top position.
Dunn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Carlson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nino Dunn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Dunn rushes Carlson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darron Carlson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dunn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carlson clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nino Dunn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Darron Carlson's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Dunn throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nino Dunn seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Dunn clinches up against the cage.

Carlson has picked Dunn up - he's going for a ride! Carlson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Dunn tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Carlson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Dunn gets back to half guard.

Carlson is working for a submission of some sort.

Carlson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dunn to get to his feet.

Dunn closes the distance and clinches.

Carlson pulls guard.
Dunn won't allow Carlson to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dunn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carlson's guard.

Carlson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Dunn looks to land a combination but Carlson avoids it well.

Dunn throws a nice looking combination but Carlson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dunn moves into the clinch.
Carlson is trying to pull guard but Dunn turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Carlson jumps guard but Dunn stands there with Carlson around his waist. Carlson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Dunn's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Dunn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dunn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dunn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carlson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Carlson gets to his feet - Dunn follows without any prompting.

Dunn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carlson, pushing him back against the cage.

Carlson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Dunn tries to roll over but Carlson keeps him under control.

Carlson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Dunn gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dunn wants to break free but Carlson has control.

Carlson has hold of one of Dunn's legs. Dunn is fighting the takedown attempt but Carlson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Carlson won't allow Dunn to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dunn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dunn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nino Dunn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Carlson tries to free his leg and advance position but Dunn is retaining full guard.

Carlson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dunn trying to keep a closed guard but Carlson is proving a slippery customer.
Dunn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Darron Carlson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Carlson drops back looking for a leg! Dunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dunn manages to kick Carlson off! Carlson jumps back into Dunn's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nino Dunn.
I've got Dunn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
