PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Bede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Bede!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Bede is avoiding it.
Bede closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Bede circles away.
Bede shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bede misses with a body shot.
Bede throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.

Bede gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson lands a couple of digs.
Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Bede is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Bede throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Bede keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bede looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bede is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Johnson trying to control but Bede postures up.

Bede is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Johnson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Johnson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Johnson stands up and beckons Bede to his feet.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A left and a right from Bede both land. Nice combination.
Bede moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Johnson darts in and clinches Bede up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bede tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Bede. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bede has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Johnson uses from the top position.

Bede working for submissions but it's allowed Johnson to get to half guard.
Bede is breathing heavily.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bede keeps working.
Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Johnson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson tries to clinch but Bede moves out of range.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bede is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Johnson is tapping! Great win for Bede!
