The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul scores with a one two! Belov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Paul throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rand Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Paul. Belov shrugs it off though.
A head kick misses from Paul.
Paul connects with a leg kick. Belov looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Paul cracks Belov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Paul lets loose with a powerful body kick. Belov will feel that in the morning.

Belov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Belov there as he acknowledges the shot.

Belov tries to move into range but Paul moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Paul will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Paul swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Belov.
Paul throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A solid leg kick lands there for Paul.
Belov shoots for a takedown but Paul saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Paul throws a head kick that Belov semi-blocks.
Paul lands a leg kick that knocks Belov off balance momentarily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Paul's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Belov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Belov takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Paul is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Paul lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Belov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paul pinned against the cage. Paul gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Belov darts in looking for a takedown but Paul gets double underhooks and turns Belov into the cage.
Paul lands an elbow inside.
Paul tries to pull guard but Belov won't allow it.
Paul is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Belov is defending well.

Paul gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Paul is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Belov can do to turn this around?
Paul misses with a head shot. Belov uses the momentum to regain guard.
Paul is looking to pass into half guard but Belov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Belov is in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Belov throws a big right hand that misses.
Paul will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paul tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Belov wants to control from the top but Paul keeps moving.

Paul has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Paul looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Paul has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Belov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Belov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paul swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Paul has his foot on Belov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Belov works his way back into a safe position though.

Belov pushes down on Paul's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belov is keen to just control but Paul is a slippery customer.
Paul is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Belov scores with a couple of nice shots.
Belov winds up and cracks Paul with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Paul tries to get to full guard but Belov has control of the leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Paul manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Belov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Paul is looking for a sweep. Belov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Belov is controlling the pace.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Belov is thwarting Paul's attempts to control the position.
Belov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Paul with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Belov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Paul.
Belov shoots in for a double leg but Paul sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Belov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Belov has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Belov.
Belov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Belov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Belov is trying desperately to land a takedown but Paul is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Belov.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Paul connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Paul lands a nice leg kick that just misses Belov's sensitive parts.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rand Paul showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paul, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
