Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Kersten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alejandro Dennis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tyler Kersten!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersten stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kersten wants it to stay on the feet.

Kersten shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kersten showed some decent athleticism there.
Dennis is looking to improve his position.
Dennis really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Kersten wants to pass to mount but Dennis is defending the position.
Kersten wants to stand up but Dennis has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kersten is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dennis defends it well.

Dennis gets back to full guard.
Dennis really is a fat lump.
Kersten slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dennis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dennis has a closed guard, preventing Kersten from standing up.

Dennis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kersten passes into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Dennis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Kersten pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dennis is keeping the position for now.

Kersten wants to stand but Dennis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kersten sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dennis's guard.
Kersten passes to side control.
Dennis tries to improve position but can't.
Dennis is working hard here to advance position.

Dennis tries to buck Kersten off but Kersten is having none of it.
The ground and pound from Kersten seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Kersten moves into range and clinches up with Dennis.
Kersten wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dennis is working for takedown but Kersten is calmly controlling the position for now.
Dennis tries a knee to the head but Kersten blocks it.
Dennis tries for a takedown but Kersten manages to get underhooks.

Kersten pulls guard effortlessly.

Kersten is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dennis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kersten's head.
Kersten not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dennis is looking to work some ground and pound but Kersten has wrist control.

Dennis throws a big elbow that misses.
Dennis wants to control from the top but Kersten keeps moving.
Dennis throws a strike but Kersten rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kersten stays in close to Dennis's body and controls the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tyler Kersten wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dennis swats away the attempt to clinch by Kersten.
Kersten is looking to clinch.

Dennis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kersten, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dennis.

Kersten jumps into guard, dragging Dennis to the mat.
Dennis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Kersten is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kersten working for a triangle but Dennis defends it easily.
Dennis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kersten works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dennis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kersten looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Dennis lands a couple of elbows.

Kersten is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dennis is aware though and is defending well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dennis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dennis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dennis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kersten is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Tyler Kersten will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Dennis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Kersten tries to clinch but Dennis is having none of it.
Dennis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kersten pushes Dennis up against the cage in a clinch.
Kersten looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Kersten has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dennis regains guard immediately.
Dennis looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kersten sitting in guard here, content to control.
Dennis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kersten wanted to stand there but Dennis had control of the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Tyler Kersten has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Well Kersten has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
