The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers stuffs the takedown attempt from Slammer. Slammer gets slowly back to his feet.
Slammer misses with a takedown attempt - Rogers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Slammer dives in for a single leg takedown but Rogers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jason Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leather Slammer.
Slammer has Rogers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rogers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
I was talking to Rogers's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Slammer is working for takedown but Rogers is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rogers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rogers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rogers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slammer, up you get!
Slammer shoots in looking for a takedown but Rogers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Slammer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Leather Slammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slammer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rogers quickly recovers to half guard.
Rogers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slammer on the ground.
Slammer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rogers looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rogers trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Slammer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rogers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slammer.
Slammer is looking for a kimura but Rogers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Slammer to get the leverage.

Slammer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rogers is just riding it out for now. Slammer eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rogers is refusing to be controlled, as Slammer sits in half guard.

Slammer is keen to just control but Rogers is a slippery customer.
Slammer moves into full mount! Rogers won't be happy about that!

My spies in DanceClub inform me that Slammer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Rogers's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Rogers is in a horrible position here. Slammer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Jason Rogers has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slammer sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Poor strikes thrown by Slammer there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Slammer throwing strikes here but Rogers is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Slammer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rogers manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Slammer has hold of Rogers's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rogers seems comfortable defending it but Slammer has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rogers is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rogers is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Slammer couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Leather Slammer tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
