Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shimizu Matsuhita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Floyd Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Shimizu Matsuhita has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Shimizu Matsuhita seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shimizu Matsuhita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Floyd Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt.
Thompson moves into the clinch.
Matsuhita can't break the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Matsuhita.
It looks like Floyd Thompson has been cut.
Thompson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Matsuhita gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Matsuhita gets underhooks to prevent Thompson's takedown attempt.
Matsuhita has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shimizu Matsuhita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Floyd Thompson.
Matsuhita lands an uppercut.
Thompson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Matsuhita pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Matsuhita pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Matsuhita throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Matsuhita has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thompson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Thompson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Matsuhita is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Matsuhita bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thompson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thompson is trying to hold Matsuhita in close to prevent damage but Matsuhita has managed to pass into half guard.
Matsuhita is looking to advance position but Thompson won't allow it.
Matsuhita sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Thompson defending well though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thompson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Thompson is looking for a sweep. Matsuhita is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson is trying to maintain the position but Matsuhita is very close to passing his half guard.
Thompson tries to roll over but Matsuhita keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Matsuhita in particular looking to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Thompson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matsuhita swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thompson is defended easily by Matsuhita.
Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matsuhita was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Thompson won't allow Matsuhita to sweep him here.
Thompson wants to control from the top but Matsuhita keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Matsuhita looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompson is one step ahead there.
Thompson tries to free his leg and advance position but Matsuhita is retaining full guard.
Thompson looking to sit in guard and control but Matsuhita gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Matsuhita decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thompson, up you get!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thompson misses with a combination
and Matsuhita counters with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shimizu Matsuhita will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Floyd Thompson's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Matsuhita is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Matsuhita circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Thompson or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsuhita which made him look bad.
Matsuhita lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Thompson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice straight punches there by Matsuhita. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Matsuhita.
That has opened up Floyd Thompson's cut even more.
Matsuhita cracks Thompson on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Thompson falls backwards against the cage. Matsuhita follows up with more strikes that drop Thompson to his knees. Matsuhita keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Thompson! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shimizu Matsuhita!
