The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Almeida misses with a jab to the body
and Pounder counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Almeida throws a hook but Pounder avoids it easily.

Pounder lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Almeida misses the shot to the body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pounder fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pounder scores with a one two! Almeida had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Almeida throws out a loose jab but Pounder uses good head movement to avoid it.
Almeida takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Pounder connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
