Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Alighieri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konstantin Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alighieri's entrance music is Mosquito Song by Queens Of The Stone Age. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Magomedov's choice of entrance music: Ave Maria. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alighieri blocks the body kick.
Magomedov cracks Alighieri with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Alighieri thows a body shot but no joy.
Alighieri throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Magomedov counters with a takedown into side control.
Magomedov wants to control but Alighieri is keeping him busy.
Alighieri tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Magomedov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alighieri has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Magomedov has managed to get both his arms back between Alighieri's legs - danger averted.
Magomedov is working Alighieri over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Alighieri had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Magomedov defends it easily.
Magomedov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Alighieri is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Magomedov is pushing down on Alighieri's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alighieri is fighting to maintain full guard but Magomedov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Magomedov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Alighieri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alighieri wants to control but Magomedov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Magomedov lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alighieri wants to improve his position but Magomedov is controlling well.
Magomedov not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alighieri is looking to control Magomedov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alighieri avoid being mounted?
Magomedov prevents Alighieri from improving his position.

Magomedov uses his free foot to push down on Alighieri's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alighieri.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Magomedov working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alighieri is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Magomedov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alighieri looks a forlorn figure.
Magomedov loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Alighieri scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Magomedov land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Magomedov stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Konstantin Magomedov!
Our winner, Konstantin Magomedov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
