Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy The Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy The Kid will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Gates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy The Kid!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting The Kid counter with a right hand.

The Kid throws a sloppy head kick and Gates moves out of range easily.

The Kid drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Kid jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The Kid has gone for a leg lock! Gates slips out almost immediately though and dives into The Kid's guard.

The Kid bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gates's guard.
Gates is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The Kid postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gates is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Kid, into his guard.

The Kid escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gates gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The Kid had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gates defends it easily.

The Kid is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gates defends well.

Jimmy The Kid dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gates is trying hard to land a takedown here. The Kid sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The Kid shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gates as he jumps to the side.
Gates changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Kid tries to avoid it but Gates manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Kid to the ground. The Kid escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gates throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Kid was covering up waiting for the punch and Gates finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gates drops back looking for a leg! The Kid is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and The Kid manages to kick Gates off! Gates jumps back into The Kid's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Gates.

The crowd cheers as The Kid lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gates doesn't seem phased though.
