PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ippo Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro has chosen bubble pop as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kamil Koltun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ippo Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koltun misses with a head kick.
Koltun defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koltun's waist but Koltun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ribeiro off to one side.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ribeiro.
Kamil Koltun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ippo Ribeiro.
Ribeiro darts in looking for a takedown but Koltun gets double underhooks and turns Ribeiro into the cage.
Koltun gets through Ribeiro's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Koltun throws an elbow that misses.
Ribeiro has Koltun pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Koltun manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ribeiro has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Koltun after a bit of a struggle.
Ribeiro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Koltun is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Koltun lands with a short shot to the head.

Koltun lands a shoulder strike.
Koltun is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Koltun lands with a right to the head.
Ribeiro is looking to take this one to the mat.

It looks like Ippo Ribeiro has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Koltun stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Still in the clinch, Koltun scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ribeiro takes a shot to the head.
Koltun lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Koltun is pressed up against the cage. Ribeiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Koltun down to the mat. Koltun avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ribeiro has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Koltun is landing a low percentage of strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koltun lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Koltun connects with a looping right hand.
Ribeiro takes a jab right on the kisser.

Koltun lands a big right hand that sends Ribeiro crashing to the mat! Koltun stays standing though and waves Ribeiro back to his feet!
Ribeiro shoots for a double leg takedown but Koltun sprawls well. He's pushed Ribeiro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ribeiro tries to move into range but Koltun moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ribeiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koltun's waist but Koltun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ribeiro off to one side.
Good standup being displayed there by Koltun as he connects with a hook.

Koltun drops Ribeiro with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ribeiro looks back up at him and smiles so Koltun waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Ribeiro is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ribeiro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Koltun counters with a right hand from hell and Ribeiro is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kamil Koltun!
Ippo Ribeiro was interviewed post fight and said 'i'm injured'.
