PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raleigh Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Guerilla Radio by Rage Against the Machine. White has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Albert White has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raleigh Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert White!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harris moves away.
White looks winded!

Harris gets a takedown into half guard.

Harris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. White doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Harris.

Harris stands up out of the half guard.
Harris dives in and grabs White's left leg, looking for a takedown. White pushes down on Harris's head and hops out.

Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. White quickly recovers to half guard.

Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so White is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold.

White is defending against the submission attempts here by Harris.

Harris is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Harris stands up from half guard.
White's coach down at Finch Farm was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on White's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

and Harris counters with a three punch combo that has White backing up. White nods at Harris to acknowledge the strikes.

White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harris was well out of range. Poor timing from White.

Harris drives through and clinches with White against the cage.
White wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Harris has him pressed against the cage.

Harris lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Harris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. White is aware though and is defending well.

Harris has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes White off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
White jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Harris has taken the fight to the clinch.
White drops down looking for an ankle pick but Harris pulls his leg out and moves away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
White is wriggling around but Harris manages to pass to half guard.
White is trying to stand up here but Harris is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Harris takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Raleigh Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
White fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harris looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
An inside leg kick lands from Harris.
White tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
White lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Harris at a distance.

Harris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. White tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harris is in White's guard.
Harris is working White over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Harris stands up from White's guard - Harris perhaps looking for a knockout.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
White scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Harris finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
White defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Harris.
Harris could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
White scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
White bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
White is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Harris rather than just go for the knockout.

White has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Albert White seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Harris digs a right hand underneath White's ribcage. White let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Harris jumps into guard, dragging White to the mat.
Harris wants to stand and escape but White is having none of it.
White must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

White got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, White has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Harris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harris throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

White stuns Harris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
White uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

White scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Harris doesn't seem bothered though.

Horrible takedown by Harris or perhaps it was just good defense by White which made him look bad.

Harris shoots for a double leg takedown but White sprawls well. He's pushed Harris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Harris's hands are dropping dangerously low here and White connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Harris scrambles back to his feet.

White lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Albert White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Harris is trying to work for a kimura but White is defending well.
White wants to control but Harris is keeping busy.

White pushes Harris off looking to stand but Harris dives back in and keeps control.
