Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Christofi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hong Entrance Song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Hong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Christofi!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong lands with an overhand left.
Hong throws a low kick but Christofi avoids it.
Hong throws a nice head kick!
Christofi misses with a double jab.
Christofi fails with the takedown.
Hong throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Christofi's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Christofi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hong sprawls well initially but Christofi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hong wants to get back to full guard.

Christofi postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hong to stand up.
Hong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Christofi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Christofi shoots in and bounces Hong off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Christofi works over Hong with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hong frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Christofi is trying desperately to improve position.

Hong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Christofi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hong wants to control the pace but Christofi is squirming around nicely.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kris Hong just wasn't active enough.
Christofi works over Hong's head and body with a nice combination.
Christofi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Christofi darts in looking for a takedown but Hong gets double underhooks and turns Christofi into the cage.
Christofi wants a takedown but no success here.
Kris Hong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Christofi.
Hong lands a right hand that snaps the head of Christofi backwards.

Hong throws a head punch that misses.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Christofi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hong throws out the jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Christofi is defended easily by Hong.
Hong lands a head kick. Christofi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Christofi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hong can pounce on him.
Hong is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Hong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Christofi is working away from the top position though.

Christofi is looking to work some ground and pound but Hong has wrist control.
Hong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Christofi stopping the sweep attempt from Hong.
Hong keeping moving, preventing Christofi from controlling successfully.
Hong trying to keep a closed guard but Christofi is proving a slippery customer.
Christofi throws a strike but Hong rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hong passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Christofi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hong.

You can see the frustration on Christofi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hong advances to mount.
Hong unloads with some shots from mount but Christofi bucks and avoids them well.
Hong won't let Christofi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hong with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Christofi is trying to stand up here but Hong is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hong lands with a hook. Christofi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Hong bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Christofi's head backwards.

Good leg kick by Hong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Christofi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Christofi manages to avoid it.

and Christofi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Christofi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That kick from Hong tenderised Christofi's leg. Christofi is trying to keep his angry face on.

Hong lands a big uppercut and Christofi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Christofi looks OK. Hong waves Christofi back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hong circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Christofi to the canvas! Christofi doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hong keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kris Hong!
