Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Yulaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gabriel Yulaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gilbert Smith!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yulaw throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Yulaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.

Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Yulaw quickly recovers to half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

It looks like Smith is going to stand back up.
Smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Yulaw tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Smith wants to pass to mount but Yulaw is defending the position.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Smith trying to control from Yulaw's half guard. Yulaw has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Yulaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smith forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Yulaw wants to get back to his feet.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Yulaw is defending well.
Still in half guard, Smith seems content to control.

Smith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Yulaw tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smith!

A determined Gilbert Smith didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
