Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harlan Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Drakon Ovanoff!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ovanoff closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ovanoff misses with the ground and pound.
Ovanoff trying to control the action but Waters is working from the bottom.
Waters dodges the ground and pound from Ovanoff.

Ovanoff thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Waters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ovanoff wants to control but Waters is keeping him busy.

Ovanoff tries for a kimura but Waters is defending well.

Ovanoff decides to stand back up. Ovanoff steps back and let's Waters get back to his feet.

Ovanoff shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Waters tries to kick Ovanoff off but Ovanoff keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Waters is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Still in half guard, Ovanoff seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ovanoff decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ovanoff decides to stand and escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ovanoff has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ovanoff shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Waters is trying to defend but Ovanoff finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ovanoff stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Waters to get to his feet.

Ovanoff seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ovanoff is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Waters!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ovanoff. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Ovanoff is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Waters to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Waters shrugs it off.

Drakon Ovanoff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Waters avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ovanoff.
Waters is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ovanoff trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Waters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ovanoff avoids the attempt from Waters to control.
Ovanoff sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Waters really wants to buck Ovanoff off and get back to his feet.

Ovanoff stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Waters dives in for a single leg takedown but Ovanoff sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Waters doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Waters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ovanoff gets a clinch.
Ovanoff is trying to force a seperation but Waters has the dominant position.

Ovanoff jumps guard.

Ovanoff wants to sweep here but Waters controlling him for the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ovanoff holds on and takes a little breather.

Waters throws an elbow that misses. Ovanoff uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Waters's guard. Nice move by Ovanoff!

Waters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ovanoff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ovanoff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ovanoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Waters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ovanoff postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Waters is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ovanoff, into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Drakon Ovanoff comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ovanoff has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
