Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robinson Bell!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Martinez looks to clinch

and Bell counters by clinching up.

Bell works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bell won't allow Martinez to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving.
Bell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Martinez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Martinez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bell on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Robinson Bell has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bell swings away with a body shot that misses
and Martinez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bell is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Bell tries to bum rush Martinez with a series of wild strikes but Martinez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martinez misses with a takedown attempt

and Bell counters by moving into the clinch.
Bell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bell blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bell lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bell not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Martinez is trying to get back to full guard.
Bell is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Martinez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bell is working away from the top position though.

Bell wants to work for an arm triangle but Martinez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bell is trying to control the action in half guard but Martinez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Martinez is defending against the submission attempts here by Bell.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bell slows the pace down in half guard.
Martinez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bell is working away from the top position though.
Martinez is positioning himself well to prevent Bell advancing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martinez tries to get to full guard but Bell has control of the leg.

Bell has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Martinez defend it? Bell steps over the head and cranks it - Martinez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Bell!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robinson Bell!
Our winner, Robinson Bell, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
