The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarabjit doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Maynard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Maynard lands with a straight right. Sarabjit didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Rcrs Sarabjit has been cut.
Sarabjit shoots in for a takedown but Maynard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
John Maynard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sarabjit shoots in looking for a takedown. Maynard tries to sprawl out of it but Sarabjit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maynard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
John Maynard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rcrs Sarabjit.

Sarabjit darts in looking for a takedown but Maynard gets double underhooks and turns Sarabjit into the cage.

Maynard is doing well to control the position and prevent Sarabjit from advancing to side control.

Sarabjit is looking for a kimura but Maynard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sarabjit to get the leverage.
Maynard moves into full guard.
Maynard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
