PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melih Pulcu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulcu comes to the cage accompanied by Martin Garrix - Animals. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulcu wants to clinch up but Ross keeps it at a distance.
Ross stuffs the takedown attempt from Pulcu. Pulcu gets slowly back to his feet.

Ross has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ross can't break the clinch.
Pulcu keeps control of Ross as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ross blocking some punches.
Ross jumps guard but Pulcu stands there with Ross around his waist. Ross gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ross tries for a takedown. No joy.

Pulcu breaks from the clinch.
Ross shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pulcu pinned against the cage. Pulcu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Melih Pulcu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Ross.
Ross shoots for a double leg takedown but Pulcu sprawls well. He's pushed Ross's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pulcu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ross but Ross pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ross shoots in looking for a takedown but Pulcu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ross's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Pulcu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ross is trying to push Pulcu away but Pulcu has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pulcu keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ross's efforts to push away.
Ross tries to break the clinch but Pulcu is controlling the position.

Pulcu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ross dives in and grabs Pulcu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulcu pushes down on Ross's head and hops out.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ross.

Ross moves into the clinch.
Pulcu has Ross pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ross manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ross wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pulcu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ross shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pulcu sprawls well. Pulcu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ross gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pulcu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Ross is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ross thows a huge punch but Pulcu dodges it nicely.

Pulcu tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ross smiles and moves away.
Ross dives in and grabs Pulcu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulcu pushes down on Ross's head and hops out.
Ross throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pulcu's waist but Pulcu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ross off to one side.

Pulcu shoots for a takedown but Ross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ross pushes Pulcu up against the cage in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ross is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Pulcu presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Pulcu throws a knee to the head but misses.
Ross fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ross is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Pulcu can't break the clinch.

Ross jumps guard and drags Pulcu to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ross escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pulcu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ross is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ross fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pulcu, pushing him back against the cage.
Pulcu gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ross.
A frustrated look appears on Pulcu's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ross drags the fight down to the ground.
Ross has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Pulcu has passed into side control.
Ross manages to get back to half guard.
Ross is looking for a sweep. Pulcu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ross is controlling Pulcu's position as best he can from this difficult position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bob Ross hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Ross has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
