Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neville Champman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Apaga Nao Bate. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Neville Champman!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Champman's waist but Champman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Champman drops Gracie with a left and a right! Oh, Gracie is hurt - Champman dives into side control looking to finish!


Gracie is rocked!
Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Champman decides to stand back up. Champman steps back and let's Gracie get back to his feet.
Neville Champman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Champman gets a clinch.

Champman has clasped his hands together around Gracie's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Champman decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Champman throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Champman throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Champman paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Champman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gracie, pushing him back against the ropes.
Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Champman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Champman has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gracie is trying to keep an underhook but Champman manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Champman wants to free his trapped foot but Gracie is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Champman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Champman tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gracie.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A big left from Champman misses.

Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Gracie wanted to stand there but Champman had control of the position.
Champman can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Champman is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Champman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Champman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Champman manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Champman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Champman is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Champman is defending well.

Champman wants to get back to his feet but Gracie drags him back down.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Champman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Champman throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.

Champman tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
Rob Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Champman is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Champman is trying to stand.

Champman pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Champman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Champman looks like he's trying to stand up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Champman tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Champman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Gracie slips a straight right by Champman.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Gracie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Champman is surviving well by controlling Gracie's body position as best he can.

Gracie stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Gracie feints and as Champman raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Champman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.

Champman wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rob Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gracie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Champman frees his head nicely. Oh but Gracie has switched to an armbar! Champman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
