Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven McCarel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boreas Notus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Notus has chosen Action Action- Drug Like as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Boreas Notus was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarel throws a sloppy head kick and Notus moves out of range easily.
Horrible takedown by McCarel or perhaps it was just good defense by Notus which made him look bad.
Notus scores with a body shot.
Notus listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

It looks like Steven McCarel has been cut.
McCarel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Notus misses with a few strikes there.
Donk. Notus catches McCarel right on the button with a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McCarel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McCarel is breathing heavily.
Notus lands a really nice looking cross but McCarel seems unphased.
Notus throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Notus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Notus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McCarel tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Notus stops McCarel from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McCarel wants to control but Notus is keeping busy.
Notus prevents McCarel from improving his position.
McCarel is working hard here to advance position.
Notus controlling the action here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
McCarel misses with a takedown attempt
letting Notus counter with a right hand.

Notus throws a sloppy head kick and McCarel moves out of range easily.

McCarel tries to hold on but Notus postures up.

McCarel slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
McCarel is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McCarel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Notus is working away from the top position though.
Notus prevents McCarel from improving his position.
McCarel wants to control but Notus passes into side.
McCarel is looking for a sweep.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Notus is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McCarel will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McCarel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Notus throws a nice head kick!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

McCarel falls off balance throwing a combination
and Notus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McCarel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Notus counters with a flying knee. Nice.
McCarel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
McCarel misses with a takedown
and Notus counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McCarel thinking.
Notus moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McCarel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Notus to counter with a crisp jab.

Steven McCarel's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

McCarel tries for a takedown but Notus circles away easily
and Notus makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Notus lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends McCarel sprawling to the canvas. Notus follows him down, looking for the kill. Can McCarel hang on?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Steven McCarel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
