Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Satoshi Kishida!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards shoots in but Kishida avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kishida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Edwards but Edwards pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kishida tries to sprawl but Edwards drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kishida told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Edwards is thwarting Kishida's attempts to control the position.

Edwards definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kishida looks like he's trying to stand up.

Edwards is working for an americana but Kishida has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Edwards was thinking about the submission.

Kishida manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Edwards on his heels. He'll look to pass Edwards's guard now, I'm sure.
Edwards wants to stand and escape but Kishida is having none of it.

Edwards is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kishida knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Edwards goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kishida has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Edwards but great work by Kishida.

Kishida has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Edwards is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kishida yanks on the arm and Edwards is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kishida.
