Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adam Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Daddy Lugg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Giles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Daddy Lugg!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugg lands with a good body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Lugg. Those never looked like landing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lugg is defended easily by Giles.
Lugg has his takedown stuffed
and Giles counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lugg thinking.
Giles dives in for a single leg takedown but Lugg sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Lugg has clasped his hands together around Giles's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Giles tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Giles is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Giles wants to get back to his feet.
Giles moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lugg with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lugg wants to control from the top but Giles keeps moving.
Giles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lugg is one step ahead there.
Giles is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lugg is stalling in the full guard.
Giles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lugg!

Giles lands a heavy elbow.
Giles landing punches.
Lugg is desperately trying to improve his position but Giles has a good base and remains in mount.
Lugg tries to hold on but Giles postures up.
Giles controlling from the full mount.
Lugg wants to control but Giles is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Giles lands a big shot there that rocks Lugg but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Lugg is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lugg tries to lock up and control but Giles gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giles controlling the pace for now.
Lugg is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Lugg is in all sorts of trouble here.
Giles with shots to the head and body - Lugg looks very uncomfortable down there.
Lugg is trying to escape the mount.
Giles content just to control the position here.
Giles breaks from Lugg's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Giles looking to control and managing it successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Giles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lugg for as long as he can get away with.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Giles looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Lugg counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Lugg is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Giles wants to sweep here but Lugg controlling him for the moment.

Lugg trying to control but Giles is working from the bottom.
Lugg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Giles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Giles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Giles is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lugg is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Giles is pushing Lugg up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Giles wants to break the clinch but can't.

Lugg ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lugg no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Giles is looking to work some ground and pound but Lugg has wrist control.
Giles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Giles has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Giles wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Giles tries for a takedown but Lugg sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Giles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lugg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lugg tries to clinch there but Giles circles away.

Lugg has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Giles uses from the top position.

Lugg is breathing heavily.
Lugg wants to improve his position but instead Giles has moved into half guard.
Giles controlling the pace.

Giles is trying to work for a kimura but Lugg is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Giles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lugg keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Big Daddy Lugg will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Giles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Lugg dives in and grabs Giles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Giles pushes down on Lugg's head and hops out.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lugg.

and Giles counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Giles.
Giles is trying to break free.

Lugg jumps into guard, dragging Giles to the mat.
Lugg has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Giles has passed into side control.
Lugg is looking for a sweep.
Lugg is trying to escape the position but Giles is controlling the position.
Lugg taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lugg wants to control but Giles postures up.

Lugg is not content to let Giles control the position.
Giles is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lugg is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Giles tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Giles has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Giles is working Lugg over with some ground and pound from side control.

The referee asks Giles politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Giles prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lugg is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lugg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lugg is not content to let Giles control the position.
Giles thows a huge punch but Lugg dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Giles in particular looking to stall.

Adam Giles has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Giles circles away from the clinch attempt.
Giles defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lugg.
Adam Giles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Daddy Lugg.
Giles dives in for a single leg takedown but Lugg sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Giles is looking to break free of the clinch but Lugg has double underhooks.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Giles wants to get back to striking at distance but Lugg won't allow it.

Lugg jumps guard and drags Giles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
