Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, CJ Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a leg kick.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Barrera avoids the body shot from Johnson.
Johnson motions for Barrera to come forward. Johnson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson is looking to slow Barrera down with leg kicks.
Johnson misses with the combination.
Johnson tries to move into range but Barrera moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Johnson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Johnson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Barrera steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson.

Barrera has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AD Sparstars Inc. in the buildup to the fight.

Barrera lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Barrera has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barrera can't get the takedown.
Johnson swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Barrera throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Barrera pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Barrera follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
CJ Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barrera tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Barrera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barrera takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barrera misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Johnson lands with a good body shot.
Barrera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Barrera jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Barrera throws a looping overhand right but Johnson ducks down to avoid it.

Barrera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Barrera throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.
Barrera blocks a head kick by Johnson.
No joy there for Barrera, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Barrera lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Barrera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barrera is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Johnson.
Barrera wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Johnson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Barrera throws a nice outside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barrera ducks under a wild hook from Johnson.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
Johnson misses with a body shot
and Barrera cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Johnson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson throws a front kick aimed at Barrera's knee but Barrera avoids it well.
Barrera throws a big shot that misses.
Johnson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Barrera looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luis Barrera will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Barrera will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Johnson looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Barrera takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Johnson throws a push kick but Barrera slaps the foot to one side.

Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barrera is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Johnson is struggling to control the position.
Barrera is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Johnson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Barrera.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Barrera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson misses with a short punch on the inside.
Barrera tries for a takedown. No joy.

Barrera turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barrera manages to end up in side control.

Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barrera wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Barrera wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.

Barrera has hold of Johnson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Johnson seems comfortable defending it but Barrera has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Johnson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Johnson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Barrera couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Luis Barrera!
