Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Umberto Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordechai Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duran comes to the cage accompanied by Hatebreed - Live for this. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Umberto Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mordechai Marx!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marx.
We've been told by Duran's head coaches at BEVA Fight Home that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Marx ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duran moves away.
Marx throws a sloppy head kick
and Duran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Marx throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Duran throws a leg kick but Marx moved away.
Marx misses with a head kick.
Duran scores with a nice strike.
Duran cracks Marx with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duran moves out of range of the strikes.
Marx displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Duran throws out the jab.
Duran misses with a series of wild punches.
Duran throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marx on the side of the head.
Marx loads up on a big right hand but Duran slips the punch.
Marx's corner calls for a 1-2. Marx obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Marx fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Duran looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Marx misses with a hook
and Duran counters with a series of strikes. Marx will be more careful next time no doubt.
Duran jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Marx slips under a jab.
Duran ducks under a wild hook from Marx.
Duran misses with a wild combination.
Marx misses with an uppercut. Duran saw that one coming.
Marx ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Marx lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duran at a distance.
Marx slips under a jab from Duran.
Marx moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Duran misses with a double jab.
Marx ducks under a wild hook from Duran.
Mordechai Marx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duran misses with a straight left.

Marx is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marx shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duran as he avoids it easily.
Duran is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Marx throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Duran on the side of the head.
Marx lands a nice hook to Duran's body. Duran takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Marx fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Marx throws an overhand right that lands on Duran's shoulder, as Duran tries to avoid the shot.
Duran avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Duran getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Marx throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Marx takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Marx misses with a straight right.
Duran throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Duran misses with a straight left.
Duran is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marx.
A chopping leg kick lands by Duran.

Duran gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Duran wants to get back to his feet but Marx is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marx looking to pass the guard.
Marx trying to control but Duran is working from the bottom.

Marx thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Marx wants to pass the guard but Duran is keeping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duran is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Duran keeping moving, preventing Marx from controlling successfully.
Marx tries to free his leg and advance position but Duran is retaining full guard.
Marx trying to control the position from guard on top but Duran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mordechai Marx.
Duran throws a low kick but Marx moves out of range easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Duran ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Duran lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Marx tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Umberto Duran dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Duran tries to bum rush Marx with a series of wild strikes but Marx uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Marx misses with a hook
and Duran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Mordechai Marx has been cut.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Duran throws an overhand right that lands on Marx's shoulder, as Marx tries to avoid the shot.
Nice uppercut there from Marx.
Umberto Duran is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Duran thuds his right hand into Marx's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Umberto Duran is winning the standup battle so far.
Marx lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duran circles away quickly and effectively.
Marx checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Duran has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Umberto Duran has been cut.
Marx throws a hook to the side of Duran's head but Duran sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Duran misses with a series of wild punches.
Marx cracks Duran with a right hand to the side of the head.
A nice inside leg kick there by Duran. That's going to slow Marx down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marx throws an overhand right that lands on Duran's shoulder, as Duran tries to avoid the shot.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marx.
Marx misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duran throws out a loose jab but Marx uses good head movement to avoid it.
Duran looks to land a right hand but Marx moved out of range.

and Duran counters with a nice low kick that buckles Marx's knee momentarily.
Duran goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Duran connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Duran ducks under a wild hook from Marx.
Duran throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marx sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Marx throws a body punch but Duran moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Duran.
Marx throws out a loose jab but Duran uses good head movement to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Marx misses the target.
Marx tries a head kick but it misses.
Duran lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marx circles away quickly and effectively.
Marx misses with a looping right.
Duran misses with a jab, cross combination.
Marx fails to land with a series of punches.
Marx keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Duran.
Marx takes a swing at Duran's ribcage but misses.

Duran misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A decent looking cross lands there for Duran.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters circling - Duran throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A nice leg kick lands there from Duran.
That kick from Duran tenderised Marx's leg. Marx is trying to keep his angry face on.
Marx takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Marx is breathing heavily.
An inside leg kick lands from Duran.
Duran swinging wildly here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marx slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Duran is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Marx throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Duran waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Marx.
Duran connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Marx misses the shot to the body.
Duran misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Marx throws a jab when Duran was well out of range.
Duran tries to work over Marx's front leg with a kick but Marx checks it.
Duran throws out a loose jab but Marx uses good head movement to avoid it.
Duran drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Marx tries to land a front kick but Duran steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Duran lands a jab to Marx's midsection.
A slow jab from Marx misses its intended target.
Marx throws a head kick that misses.
Marx lands a body shot.
Marx has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marx fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marx takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nice defenses there by Duran.

Duran lands a left and a right that send Marx crashing to the mat, dazed. Duran thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Marx is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duran misses with a looping right.

Duran sends Marx crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Duran is motioning to the referee to let Marx up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Marx is still on wobbly legs! Can Duran finish him?


That has opened up Mordechai Marx's cut even more.
Duran uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marx.
Duran sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Marx's defenses. It connects perfectly with Marx's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Umberto Duran!
