The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lester looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lester will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McCormick scores with a one two! Lester had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
McCormick scores with a nice right hand.

Lester is rocked!
A bone on bone clash there as McCormick blocks the leg kick.

Lester throws a hook but McCormick avoids it easily.
McCormick moves into range and connects with a jab.
McCormick tries to land a leg kick but Lester saw it coming and moves away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCormick drops his shoulder and cracks Lester with a huge uppercut! Lester goes down! Can McCormick finish him?

McCormick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lester's head.

McCormick trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lester's guard.
McCormick wants to stand and escape but instead Lester has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lester won't allow McCormick to get back to his feet.
Lester seems to have recovered his senses.
Lester is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

My spies in Cozad The Island inform me that Lester has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Lester must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McCormick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Lester fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McCormick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lester looks to land a combination but McCormick avoids it well.
Lester drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
No joy there for McCormick, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McCormick throws a right hand that Lester ducks under and follows up with a left that Lester also avoids with ease.
McCormick connects with the punch.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Lester.

McCormick throws a nice looking combination but Lester bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for McCormick, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McCormick goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCormick cracks Lester's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Lester slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before McCormick can do further damage! This one is done, son!
