Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Browne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Majors Paaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paaine has chosen F*ck Authority-Pennywise as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Browne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Majors Paaine!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Browne throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Paaine tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Browne is in Paaine's guard.
Browne might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Browne trying to control but Paaine is working from the bottom.
Browne wants to pass the guard but Paaine is keeping the position.
Browne throwing strikes but missing.
Browne controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Browne wants to control from the top but Paaine keeps moving.
Browne trying to move into half guard but instead Paaine has managed to sweep!

Paaine slips nicely into half guard.
Browne is not content to let Paaine control the position.
Browne keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Paaine has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Paaine can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Browne is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Majors Paaine was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Browne closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Paaine quickly recovers to half guard.
Browne drops an elbow to the side of Paaine's head.
Browne is looking to take a break and control but Paaine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Browne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Paaine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Browne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Browne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paaine keeps working.
Paaine pushes Browne off looking to stand but Browne dives back in and keeps control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Browne is pressing down on Paaine's thigh, looking to free his foot. Paaine is holding on for now.

Paaine is doing well to control the position and prevent Browne from advancing to side control.

Browne is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Browne looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Paaine is not content to let Browne control the position.
Browne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paaine's head.

Paaine is refusing to be controlled, as Browne sits in half guard.
Browne is taking a breather. Paaine says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We're going to have a standup here because Simon Browne wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Paaine slaps away a takedown attempt from Browne, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Browne swats away the attempt to clinch by Paaine.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Browne has his takedown stuffed
and Paaine makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Paaine doesn't manage to clinch there - Browne circles away.

and Browne counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Paaine!
Browne creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Paaine sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Simon Browne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Browne walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Paaine checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Browne closes the distance and clinches up with Paaine, looking for a takedown. Browne pushes Paaine against the cage but Paaine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Paaine wants to clinch up but Browne keeps it at a distance.

Browne scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Paaine is trying to get back to his feet.
Paaine is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Paaine managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Browne.
Paaine is not content to let Browne control the position.

Browne misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Browne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Browne wants to take a breather but Paaine manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Browne.

Browne is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Paaine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Browne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Browne keeping moving, preventing Paaine from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Paaine looking to sit in guard and control but Browne gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Browne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
