PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Loki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Loki's choice of entrance music: Started From The Bottom. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jordan Loki!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid throws a series of punches but Loki moves out of range.

Reid drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reid trying to control but Loki is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loki is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Reid presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Reid is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Loki to keep the fight standing.
Reid keeps control of Loki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Loki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reid misses with a looping left.
Reid tries to close the distance and clinch up but Loki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reid thows a left - swing and a miss!
Loki tries for a takedown but Reid circles away easily

and Reid holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Loki working hard to break the clinch.
Loki wants to get back to striking at distance but Reid won't allow it.

Reid jumps into guard, dragging Loki to the mat.
Loki is looking to stand up but Reid won't let him.
Loki is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Reid looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Loki passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Loki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Loki tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Reid is refusing to be controlled, as Loki sits in half guard.
Reid on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reid tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Loki in particular looking to stall.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jordan Loki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Reid swings for the body but Loki moves out of range.
Reid misses with a takedown attempt
and Loki counters with a series of strikes. Reid will be more careful next time no doubt.
Loki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reid darts in looking for a takedown but Loki gets double underhooks and turns Reid into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Reid. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reid tries to stall but Loki uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Loki turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Reid tries to strike but it doesn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reid is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Loki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Reid tries to score a power double leg takedown but Loki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reid somewhat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reid looking to score a takedown here. Loki is defending well but Reid drives through and ends up in Loki's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jordan Loki will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Loki gets caught flat footed, as Reid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Loki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reid is controlling him.
Reid looking to sit in guard and control but Loki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Loki stands and steps away. Reid gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Loki throws the kick towards the body but Reid avoids it.
Loki defending well as Reid loads up on a big left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Loki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reid.
Reid swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Loki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Reid throws a leg kick but Loki moved away.

Loki drops Reid with a beautiful combination! Reid stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Loki is looking for the KO!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reid gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Loki counters with a nice kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
and Loki counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Reid! He's just covering up as Loki starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Loki!
Jordan Loki decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
