The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyrkki punishes Wer's body with a nice straight punch.
Wer throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Nyrkki on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wer. Wer obviously looking to wear him down.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wer checks a leg kick.
Nyrkki throws a hook to the side of Wer's head but Wer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wer throws a body kick that misses.
Wer tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nyrkki is able to avoid easily.
Wer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nyrkki. Nyrkki circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Kake Nyrkki has been cut.

Wer looks to score with a jab to the body but Nyrkki is just out of range.
Wer ducks under a wild hook from Nyrkki.
Wer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nyrkki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nyrkki misses with a body shot.
Wer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nyrkki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wer scrambles back to his feet.
Wer doesn't manage to clinch there - Nyrkki circles away.
Nyrkki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nyrkki.
Wer loads up on a big right hand but Nyrkki slips the punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kake Nyrkki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wer lands a high kick to the side of Nyrkki's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Wer dives into guard, looking to finish.

Nyrkki is rocked!

That has opened up Kake Nyrkki's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nyrkki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nyrkki is still in real trouble! Can Wer finish him?
Wer is not content to let Nyrkki control the position.

Nyrkki seems to have recovered his senses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wer gets back to full guard.
Wer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nyrkki!
Nyrkki wants to hold on but Wer pushes him away.

Nyrkki is squirming around, avoiding Wer's attempts to control the action.
Wer avoids the attempt from Nyrkki to control.
Wer unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Nyrkki wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Wer celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
