Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mannix McGuiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael MacRoberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuiness comes to the cage accompanied by Bare in the Basin - Gaelic Storm. The crowd seem to be enjoying MacRoberts's choice of entrance music: God Save the Queen by The Sex Pistols. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuiness closes the distance and clinches.
McGuiness lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

McGuiness tries a body shot but MacRoberts blocks it.

McGuiness lands on the inside with an uppercut.
McGuiness is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but MacRoberts is defending well.

McGuiness tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacRoberts tries to escape but McGuiness is in control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MacRoberts is not content to let McGuiness control the position.

MacRoberts comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McGuiness uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from MacRoberts.
McGuiness shoots for a double leg takedown but MacRoberts sprawls well. He's pushed McGuiness's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The referee asks McGuiness politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McGuiness prefers to stall for the moment though.

McGuiness works to advance to full mount. MacRoberts defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

We've been hearing that McGuiness has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

McGuiness is going oldschool here, as he tries to force MacRoberts to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so MacRoberts shrugs it off.

Michael MacRoberts spoke after the fight, saying 'Where's my Guinness, yo bitches'.
