Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Shimazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazaki Fujita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fujita has chosen Metallica-Enter Sandman as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kazaki Fujita!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujita blocks a head kick by Shimazu.
Fujita's corner calls for a 1-2. Fujita obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fujita is defended easily by Shimazu.

Shimazu darts in and clinches Fujita up against the cage.
Fujita tries to pull guard but Shimazu holds him up against the cage and eventually Fujita drops back down to his feet.

William Shimazu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazaki Fujita.

Fujita breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shimazu looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Shimazu connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Kazaki Fujita has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shimazu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Fujita has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Fujita blocks an uppercut.
Fujita is trying to pull guard but Shimazu has him pressed against the cage.
Fujita wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fujita has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Shimazu looking to throw knees to the head but Fujita is blocking nicely.
Fujita looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Fujita is trying to pull guard but Shimazu turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Shimazu lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fujita backwards.
Shimazu misses with the head strike.
Fujita tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shimazu just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fujita blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shimazu scores with a shoulder strike.
Fujita wants to get back to striking at distance but Shimazu won't allow it.
Fujita's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Fujita lands a left hand.
Fujita scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Shimazu throws a knee to the head but misses.
Shimazu lands with a short shot to the head.
Fujita changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shimazu fights it off and pushes away nicely.
William Shimazu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fujita rushes Shimazu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fujita wants to break free but Shimazu has control.
Shimazu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Shimazu swings wildly with an uppercut but Fujita uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shimazu connects with a knee to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fujita wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fujita tries for a takedown. No joy.

Fujita escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A cross from Fujita lands.
Shimazu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Shimazu tests Fujita's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fujita takes one to the side of the head.
Shimazu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fujita's calf.
Fujita looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Shimazu has Fujita up against the cage in a clinch.
Shimazu scores with a knee to the head.
Fujita tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shimazu just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shimazu misses with some punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shimazu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Fujita blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shimazu lands a hook that snaps the head of Fujita backwards.

Fujita jumps into guard, dragging Shimazu to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shimazu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Shimazu looking to pass the guard.
Shimazu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shimazu postures up in Fujita's guard and throws a big left but Fujita blocks it.
Shimazu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Shimazu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fujita swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shimazu trying to control but Fujita is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shimazu slips nicely into half guard.

Shimazu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Shimazu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fujita defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Shimazu dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kazaki Fujita's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fujita has Shimazu up against the cage in a clinch.
Shimazu lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fujita tries to break the clinch but Shimazu is controlling the position.
Shimazu crunches a lovely knee into Fujita's ribcage.
Shimazu landing knees to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shimazu lands a hook that snaps the head of Fujita backwards.

Shimazu lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Shimazu lands a big knee! That's hurt Fujita! Oh, he's all over the place! Shimazu lands another knee that sends Fujita to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Shimazu!
