The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boets's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boets's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Boets uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Threadgood.

Buddy Threadgood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Threadgood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boets has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Threadgood has managed to get both his arms back between Boets's legs - danger averted.
Threadgood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boets swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Buddy Threadgood decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
