Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between German Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitrij Vasilin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dmitrij Vasilin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with German Pearson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, German Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitrij Vasilin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pearson defends it nicely.
Vasilin fails with a takedown attempt.

Pearson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Pearson tries to buck Vasilin off but Vasilin is having none of it.
Vasilin takes a little break here. Pearson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dmitrij Vasilin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Vasilin drives through with a takedown into Pearson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Pearson wants to get back to striking at distance but Vasilin won't allow it.
Pearson can't find room to land a body shot as Vasilin controls the action.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pearson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Dmitrij Vasilin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pearson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vasilin as he jumps to the side.

Vasilin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pearson uses from the top position.
