PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Weichel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesys Kazlauskas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicholas Weichel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cesys Kazlauskas!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazlauskas shoots and misses

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Weichel lands a nice forearm strike.

Weichel has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kazlauskas has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Weichel is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kazlauskas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicholas Weichel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cesys Kazlauskas.

Weichel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kazlauskas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Weichel to the mat. Weichel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Weichel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Weichel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
